چکیده

Abstract Background Usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) is a fatal disease that associated with poor prognosis and survival. Several growth factors such as IGFs (insulin-like factors) IGFBPs factor binding proteins) seem to take part this pathogenesis. Pirfenidone an immunosuppressant drug thought have anti-inflammatory anti-fibrotic effects both in vitro vivo. Objective To assess IGFBP1 IGFBP2 non-invasive biomarkers for prediction outcomes of UIP clinical activity therapeutic response the pirfenidone. Results Serum levels were significantly higher group than healthy subjects ( p ≤ 0.005). After 6 months therapy, patients divided into 2 groups according improvement MRC dyspnea grading clinically improved non-improved groups. 6MWT SPaO2 compared one no differences regards other parameters < 0.0001). Both decreased serum while only was BAL all after completing 12 therapy. Conclusion increased active reduced anti-fibrosing may be promising predictors therapy UIP.

Usual Interstitial Pneumonia (UIP) and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) — Symptoms and Treatments

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) belongs to a group of diseases whose specific cause is not well known, which keeps clinicians and researchers worried: the often rapid progression of IPF is very distressing. Also the underlying causes are mostly unknown, pathophysiologic explanations and findings are still unsatisfying. With only a 5-year survival rate of 20–40 %, only quick decisions such a...

Comparison of clinical characteristics and outcomes between combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema associated with usual interstitial pneumonia pattern and non-usual interstitial pneumonia.

BACKGROUND Recently, combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema (CPFE) has been recognized worldwide. However, actually CPFE had a variety of extent of emphysema or pulmonary fibrosis. OBJECTIVES The objectives of this study were to compare the clinical characteristics and outcomes between CPFE associated with usual interstitial pneumonia pattern (UIP) and CPFE with non-UIP divided based on ch...

A case of DIPNECH presenting as usual interstitial pneumonia.

Diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia (DIPNECH) is a rare disease that is classically described as presenting with cough, dyspnea, and wheezing in non-smoker middle aged females. Pulmonary function tests commonly demonstrate an obstructive pattern and CT of chest usually reveals diffuse air trapping with mosaic pattern. We present a case of patient with DIPNECH manifestin...

Texture analysis using proton density and T2 relaxation in patients with histological usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) or nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP)

OBJECTIVES The purpose of our study was to assess proton density (PD) and T2 relaxation time of usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) and nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP) and to evaluate their utility in differentiating the two patterns. Furthermore, we aim to investigate whether these two parameters could help differentiate active-inflammatory and stable-fibrotic lesions in NSIP. METHO...
